Our ability to more effectively communicate our thoughts, and goals, and process, is what makes the real difference. Great communication takes a little more effort and tends to be collaborative.
Take on Doubt as an Advisor
For most advisors doubt is the enemy, not fear. Doubt is the father of all negative emotions and the thief who steals our dreams and makes us play it safe. We think that if we are sure about our vision and destination, people will find us cocky or self-centered. Doubt just brings out the worst in each of us. It kills the magnificent. Doubt says "It can’t be done. It’s impossible."
Teach yourself to respect doubt, and begin to discover the strange truth about it. Doubt actually holds a secret in its hands, and is the guardian of the gates to all miracles. Doubt asks to be overcome and, by overcoming it, paves new ways new rules, new limits, and new records. Doubt is the wise guardian that challenges the very best to step forward. For each one of us, if we are prepared to look doubt squarely in the eye and say: "I respect you, I know your value, but I am moving past you" – success in within our reach.
Take doubt on as an advisor, because doubt will show you where the potential pitfalls are. Doubt will point out those who aren’t on board with your vision which, in turn, tells you where you need to spend a little more energy, or add a little more clarity.

We all need to continually recommit to our success, our business, our clients, and our industry. And our immediate goal should be to build a team prepared to thoroughly lead and navigate the changes our profession is continually experiencing.
We need to prepare for the future by honestly analyzing the strengths and weaknesses of our existing business plan and be willing to reinforce our assets while creating an action plan to immediately address our limitations.
The renewal of our commitment is necessary for growth. It stretches us to reach, requires us to evolve and mandates that we think outside the box to develop new strategies for the future. For those of us willing to commit, great opportunities await. The best way to predict our future is to create it.
